Terms of service
Last updated 7 July 2026
The service
Earshot monitors public online sources for mentions of the keywords you choose, classifies those mentions with AI (sentiment, topic, severity), and presents them in a dashboard with alerts and reports. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Trial
New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No payment card is required, so nothing is charged when the trial ends. When it does, you choose a paid plan to continue, or your project pauses.
Billing
Prices are displayed in US dollars and charged in South African rand (ZAR) via Paystack, at a pinned rand amount per plan that is published on the pricing page and reviewed quarterly. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or annually, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing screen; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We never charge overage fees: if you reach your plan’s mention cap, collection pauses until your next cycle.
Acceptable use
Use Earshot to monitor brands, products, topics and competitors you have a legitimate interest in. You may not use it to harass or surveil private individuals, to violate any law, to probe or disrupt the service, or to resell raw data feeds outside the terms of your plan. The Agency plan permits reselling monitoring as a service to your clients; that is what it is for. We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why if we do.
What we do not promise
No monitoring tool sees everything, and we will not pretend this one does. Sources change their platforms, rate limits shift, and some content never becomes publicly visible. We work to collect as completely as our published source list allows, and we publish our classifier accuracy openly, but we do not guarantee that every mention of your brand will be captured or that every classification will be correct. The service is provided as is.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability arising from or related to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including decisions made on the basis of monitoring data.
Termination and your data
You can delete your account at any time. Your data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion, as described in the privacy policy. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Governing law and changes
Earshot is provided by Bokang Sibolla Digital, Cape Town, South Africa. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect. Questions go to hello@bokangsibolla.com.
